I didn’t exercise before I found Body Vision Studio. I had chronic back problems. I had not slept through the night in almost 13 years due to back pain. I was completely out of shape after child birth (Gavin and Annie). I now do a combination of Plates full system apparatus training and mat classes three times per week and walk four times per week. For the first time in 13 years since I had a L1/L2 compression fracture, I can sleep through the night with out pain, I can lift my children with out pain and I have more stamina through out the day. I generally feel so much stronger and balanced. I had no abdominal strength due to 2 C-sections when I stared pilates. It took me two full weeks to be able to do a roll-up unassisted…but it was worth it! The results in my daily comfort level are immense. Look for an instructor who will pay close attention to your personal limitations and goals and who will work at your pace.

The week before Christmas I got out of bed and a burning, excruciating pain shot down my left leg and foot. X-rays revealed that I had "sciatica" caused by degeneration of two discs in my back. I spent the next 6 weeks in bed alternating ice and heat packs, barely able to walk, unable to bend over to tie my shoes. My chiropractor said that I needed to strengthen my back and my stomach muscles if I was to regain the quality of life that I had been used to, and so I went to Marie at Body Vision Studio to take Pilates.
The results were unbelievable! Following a series of private lessons with Marie, I began to build the core strength that I was lacking. I moved to a twice a week routine on the reformer machines, and I am amazed and delighted with the results. I have more stomach and back strength then I ever had, I can keep up with students 20 years younger than me, I went from a 38" to 34" waist, my back doesn't hurt and spasm like it use to, and my overall conditioning is better then the gym routine I was following prior to my back problem.
I highly recommend Pilates and Body Vision Studios - especially for men that want to look and feel their best with an unbelievably effective workout. (Body Vision) was very experienced working with new students that had back problems like mine and (they) quickly proved to be patient, knowledgeable, and dedicated to my health and recovery.

I have always been active but never stuck with any work out routine. I was getting married and wanted to look my best. I started with three private sessions per week. It has been five months since my wedding and I am still at Body Vision three times per week, I can’t even begin to list all the benefits of Pilates but here are a few that come to mind: my equestrian riding has improved significantly, I get praise from my trainer on how much stronger and balanced I am. I wake up in the morning feeling good about my body and my health and getting compliments from my husband is definitely a plus. I have never been a big gym worshiper and would get bored very quickly. With Pilates even after ten months I still get excited about my sessions. No work out is alike. The only thing that says the same is that I always leave refreshed and energized. “ I wasn’t sure I’d see much of any results in the 8 week program. I started to see results after a few weeks. I myself am having a hard time believing all the results just from doing pilates twice a week and participating in the XFactor Program. Never in my wildest dreams did I think the XFactor Program would affect me to this degree. I’m not practicing and I am scoring in the 70’s! I didn’t do that last year and I was practicing all the time. I was playing in the high 80’s. Its probably been three years since I had a round in the 70’s. The people I play with have seen how my game has improved over the last 8 weeks and they say ‘I need to get involved in that.’ I would always get really fatigued at hole 11 or 12 and lose focus and concentration. But now I don’t get at all fatigued and I feel like I could keep playing even after the round is over. I played three rounds in the 70’s and I got a hole in 1!”

“ I am very pleased with the results (of the XFactor Program). This was different that anything else I have ever done before. All I ever did before was nautilus machines. I never worked the rotation and with resistance before. The first day it was the hardest thing I ever tried to do physically, then I got used to it…but it was still hard. I am more limber and able to rotate more (in my hips and my shoulders). I played Monday and had the best game I had in years. I took 10 or 11 strokes off my game! “Through the XFactor Program I identified certain physical barriers in my swing that hindered my game. I strengthened the problem areas and incorporated that change into my swing and (was able to )go ahead and improve my overall game.
